24 Jun "Mountain of Vision: Nebo" Deuteronomy 32:48-52, 34:1-12 So maybe a year ago the Property Owner’s Association updated the lookout that we’re all familiar with, and I think they did a great job. The paved area is so much better than the previous gravel pull-off. The grassy lawn and seasonal plantings give that area some needed color, and the new split rail fence is quite handsome too. I’m glad they retained the stone benches and added a stone border to compliment them. It’s just a nice touch and it dresses that

17 Jun "Mountain of Calling: Horeb/Sinai Exodus 3:1-12, 19:1-25 What do we call this mountain that our church sits on? What’s the name of this mountain? (Glassy) This community is known as The Cliffs at Glassy Mountain, right? But did you know that there’s another mountain in S.C. that’s also called Glassy Mountain? It’s smaller in height than our mountain, and it kind of stands alone. This “other” Glassy Mountain is located over in Pickens County. 10 Jun "Mountain of Trust: Moriah" Genesis 22:1-14 Before we start this morning, I thought I’d offer a little clarity on something I mentioned last Sunday. Last week I made light of the fact that our church name is Mountain Hill Community Church, and we couldn’t decide whether we were a mountain church or a hill church. Well, as it turns out, there may be a very good reason why that’s our name. According to my favorite website (Wikipedia), there’s no universally accepted definition of a mountain. For example, in the Oxford

03 Jun "Mountain of Promise: Ararat" Genesis 9:8-17 All of us face a very unique situation living and working here. I tend to think about it when I’m heading out of Greer, or Travelers Rest, or especially when I’m at the crest of the hill on Haywood Road and Pelham (facing north) or when I’m driving into downtown Greenville on I-385 near the old downtown airport. Do any of you know what I’m referring to? Let me give you another hint. It’s in our church’s name. (Mountains) I find it interesting describing to people where I
