24 Apr “In God We Trust” Proverbs 3:5-6 As most of you know, I just returned from a 4-day trip as a chaperone with my son’s 7th-grade class to Washington, DC. We had a fabulous time, but while I was there – in a city that for most of us is the embodiment of freedom, liberty and democracy – the motto “In God We Trust” continued to ring in my ears and fall upon my eyes. I don’t know if it’s just me or not, but looking around at all of the monuments and memorials really causes me to want to believe that motto is true.

The whole family was missing Texas, especially when Christmas was just around the corner and the whole place was covered in snow. (We like snow on Christmas morning or Christmas Eve, just as long as it’s all gone by the time we get on the road to go to visit our families, right?)
